Purchased for a child this is a low cost camera to replace an even cheaper one that the 2 year old has now inherited. It replaces the L55 models so for a few extra £ I went for this model over the earlier ones. It's not a high quality product the case is plastic rather than metal bodied - no issue with that for the price. The control buttons are more plasticy feeling but again kind of what I expected. In terms of picture quality first impressions are good - focus seems okay, flash is responsive enough, shutter time is fair. It has things like face tracking that were really high end a few years back. I've not done anything other than auto photo settings and it seems to be doing a fine job. It runs on bespoke lithium rather than AA cells which, although I normally use rechargables for everything else, I find much better as cameras seem to eat power. It recharges in camera which is fine - but the charge lead is annoyingly non standard. It looks like half the width of a micro-USB plug. Using standard micro USB would have been much more useful since these are the EU wide phone standard these days and would mean we would always have a suitable cable.
