Worth every penny of its price! The WB850F Smart Camera offers excellent build quality and design. The camera is constructed of solid metal like plastic. The buttons are solid and operate securely. All buttons are perfectly placed. The Omoled Display delivers amazing colours (the best I have ever seen). All “gimmick” features like a compass and the 180’ panorama works absolutely perfectly. The GPS is so useful (I think more so than a traditional GPS). The camera is snappy and responsive and you will fly through the menus and settings. All settings and menus are laid out logically and are easy to navigate. On the photographic side things are not as amazing as was the case with the ‘”gimmicks”. Photos deliver bright colours but lack the fine punch delivered by top cameras (especially when in low light). I am however very satisfied with the quality of the photos. Videos are also a very high quality but the sound is not great (the internal motors for zoom etc. spoils the sound). I can live with all of these minor gripes, but one thing that is irritating is the judder that the zoom lens sometimes experiences when zooming. I do not know whether this is a problem with my camera or with all WB850F’s but I’m sure my camera will sort itself out. In a sense I wish SAMSUNG spent more time on the PHOTO side of things. All in all I love my WB850F, it is almost perfect. All the “gimmicks” are uber cool and this alone is enough to put this camera in a league of its own.
