Epic Fail

The first Ghost Rider was epic, one of my favs but the second Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is an EPIC FAIL. Nicolas Cage didn't have much to work with and his acting was mediocre compared to the first movie. The Ghost Rider is more smoke than flames, acts more like a twitchy psycho than a dark hero, has a melted jacket, downgraded bike and lacks a purpose. The devil is played by a different actor and appears more as a below average minion with parental issues than an ancient all evil being. The Ghost Rider was able to destroy him with ease, how boring. The movie has no edge, no feel in comparison to the first one, the Ghost Rider's skull is black instead of the brilliant white and his "Look into my eyes. Your souls are stained by the blood of the innocent..." no longer exists. Johnny Blaze had ended the first movie with a sense of purpose, a need to fight against evil and a confidence a Marvel hero should have and yet in the Spirit of Vengeance he hates his curse, wants to die and suppresses the Ghost Rider. He has done nothing to fulfil his purpose or the promise he made and so on. He's literally had a melt down in the second movie. Disappointed doesn't even come close.
