Short Description

This survival horror game follows an experienced climber who sets out to scale a huge mountain in the Himalayas in order to find his recently-lost brother.

Long description

As he ascends the mountain, he encounters an ancient curse: the souls of the people who died in that region are stuck in limbo, caught in the Shadow World. Players must content with villagers, pilgrims, mountaineers, Buddhist monks, and evil ghosts and demons as they unravel the mystery of the location. And for what? The climber isn't at all convinced that his missing brother is still alive...

Great, as long as you read the manual...

Another classic for your Wii! Not a big release, no fanfare, which is a shame, as this is definitely one of the better survival-adventure games available for the console. What you get is an intriguing tale where Western arrogance meets Himalayan lore, and the resulting mystery that unfolds. Authentic Himalayan locations are brought to live with excellent graphics (for the Wii, of course) as well as above-par sound design. Interesting story is bolstered via great voice acting, stylized cut-scenes and an abundance of logs and letters to flesh out the history and lore that's so intricate to understanding the tale. Note however, that you MUST read the manual to get the motion-control gestures right, otherwise you might just kill the cat with a hurled-in-frustration Wiimote! IR pointer control works fine, but it's the gesture-based finishing moves that require some practice. Seriously, RTFM on this one, trust me! But if you can master that, prepare for a wonderfully moody, creepy and enjoyable survival-adventure that deserves a place in your Wii library.
