    Love it

Purchased this for my 2 year old son and he absolutely loves it. Nice and small and easy for him to navigate. Downloaded the apps and videos and he watches it continuously.

    Suggestion

I have not bought a LeapPad yet, but am considering buying one for my son. I went into Toy Zone in Umhlanga, KZN and they had quite an array of games to buy, at about R200 - R250 each. Obviously not the whole range, but there were quite a few. Just thought I would let everyone know.

LeapPad - Buyers should do more research

The internet has enough info on LeapPad. Buyers should really do more research before buying any product regardless of which site you buy it from. Then you will not have any surprises once you purchase the item. I am plannng on buying two of these LeapPads for my boys and I have done enough research and I think it is a great product even if you have to buy the apps and games. It is like any other gaming device...you need to buy the extras. Clever Marketing tricks are there to sell products and if you are blinded by them don't blame the manufacturer or the Distributor if you did not do your homework.

    The good and the bad,,,

Upon purchasing the Leappad, I was under the impression that it comes with 4 apps. Only 1 app is loaded onto the console and the other 3 need to be downloaded off the internet. I have not been able to download the additional apps and neither has my neighbour. I have however managed to purchase an additional game from a local toyshop. My son loves his Leappad and it is educational and fun! He plays with it often and the camera and video camera are a great hit! I do feel a little cheated out of the games however I still feel that it was a good buy! I feel that Kalahari should be obliged to carry more game stock due to this problem. At the time of writing this I am unable to get any other titles for the Leappad on Kalahari!

    Kalahari and Leappad

I am really disappointed by the Leappads that I bought for my two daughters. Firstly due the fact that you cannot do anything with regards to downloading software to operate the things without going onto the internet - aside from the fact that there is a disc included with each leappad. In short I cant even access the FOUR apps that the leappad write-up say come free with the gadget. Secondly I am really disappointed by the disclaimer that Kalahari has now put on the long description where they now tell us that not all apps are available in SOME countries - WE ARE IN SOUTH AFRICA for goodness'sake, why sell us a product that doesn't work here??!!!

    Same story-about Leapster explorer

I have the same problem with the Leapster Explorer. Some of the games are not available in SA an can only be bought from the US or Canada, but the company will not ship it to SA. Be careful! The Leapster is a really good educational toy, but with the limited games available in SA, it is almost not worth it.
