Set during the time of the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, two childhood friends(Danny and Rafe) are caught up in the events that draw the United States into World War II. They enlist in the US Air Force and soon enough they both become involved with the same woman.
Some very sad scenes, but not the best movie out there.

Pearl Harbour quite obviously was made with the intention to topple Titanic as the most successful/greatest movie ever. Also based on a "tragedy waiting to happen" premise , it sadly did not live up to its potential. The movie is too long and the love subplot feels weak and forced. Pearl Harbour's director Michael Bay unfortunately does not pack the punch that Titanic's director James Cameron has. Then again , few do. On the plus side however, the effects are spectacular and in no way does it dominate the film. Great filmmaking, but the America- "our Heroes will prevail" banner is, as ever, very prominent. Incidently, any historian will tell you that the Doolittle raid at the end of the film (where the USA supposedly takes revenge on Japan)was not really considered the proper payback for the carnage at Pearl Harbour. The dropping of the Atom bomb was.
