Long description
"Capital", Marx's major work, was the product of 30 years' close study of the most advanced industrial society of his day. Marx devoted most of his adult life to analyzing the "laws of motion" of captitalism - an analysis which remains as relevant today as it was a century ago. The result was the preliminary "Contribution to a Critique of Political Economy" - an immense mass of material not prepared for publication, from which the "Grundisse" was later to be drawn - and, above all, "Capital".;"Capital: volume 2" is introduced here by Ernest Mandel, author of "Late Capitalism", which was an attempt to develop its theoretical legacy.
