Long description
The present volume is concerned with the posthumous cult of Amenhotep I and his mother Ahmes Nefertari, which starts in the private tombs of the Theban Necropolis nearly 200 years after their deaths. A chronological examination of the representations in the tombs has made it possible to show the origin of the cult and also to find an explanation for the Queena (TM)s black skin, which is closely connected with the origin of the cult. In addition, these factors point to a connection with the veneration of whichever royal house was reigning.
