Whilst using terms and concepts borrowed from the East one would be inclined to think of this as book about Zen concepts. Getting Things Done offers a system for getting all those to-do lists into a set of work files and action lists all to allow you to focus on the primary goals. It’s only downside would be it still operates from the decidedly Western notion that to get really organized, we should operate all day and night, suffice to say Getting Things Done is pretty good, fun and therapeutic. It starts by taking all unaccounted notes in your workarea that you simply can’t put as junk then the next step is to write down every other to-do and finally, throw the whole lot into the inbox. The next step is where the processing and prioritizing begin. Although there are new terms and sub-terms there is one-page flowchart that you can put up and uses as quick reference. Also of great value is Allen's two-minute rule, if there's anything you absolutely must do that you can do right now in two minutes or less, then do it now, thus freeing up your time and mind tenfold over the long term. Some common sense advise so obvious that most of us completely overlook it to our detriment. Useful read for everyone from CEO’s at the workplace to houseparent’s.
