Short description
This dictionary aims to provide an invaluable resource for students of Zulu, for Zulu-speaking students of English, and for linguists working in the Zulu language.
Long description
When the English and Zulu Dictionary (Doke, Malcolm, Sikakana) was published in 1958 the compilers intended it as a companion to the Zulu - English Dictionary compiled by Doke and Vilakazil. These two dictionaries have long been recognized as the standard works in their field. They aim to provide a valuable resource for students of Zulu, for Zulu-speaking students of English, and for linguists working in the Zulu language. For the first time, these two dictionaries are published in one volume, with a new preface by Professor J. Khumalo to update the tone marking and orthography of Doke and Vilakazi's Zulu-English Dictionary.
