I bought the book because of all the publicity, and was absolutely addicted from the first page. Had a bit of a wobbly when the kinky bits came up for the first time (I am rather conservative :)), but got past that quickly, because I was so enthralled by the love story!! The only suggestion I can make is when you buy this book, buy the rest of the trilogy!! I had to wait very impatiently for 24 hours for Kalahari to deliver my next installment :)

When I started reading 50 shades of Grey I was really shocked and disgusted with the book, the story line was flimsy the characters were shallow and the booked seemed to get worse page by page.... you either love it or hate it and trust me I hated it! I saw Chrisitian Grey as such a bad person and thought to myself I honnestly do not have time to read this book.... BUT THEN I decided to finnish the book and start with 50 Shades Darker, WOW what an improvement the writing improved the characters gained more depht and Christian Grey whom I wept for as a fellow human being captured me so that I was suddenly rooting for him during his struggles of being a good man doing bad things... imagine my surprize to see he has a conscience and shows remorse, and that he actually does have a heart, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and was by then completely enthralled in Ana & Christians story I don't want to spoil the books for any one but can say I was pleasantly surprized by 50 shades Freed... Now this was the book we were all waiting for a lovestory full of loss, excitement, danger, pleasure and anger ... I know 50 Shades of Grey has been receiving a lot of negative criticism but I would ask people to read the complete series before writing a review, in the end it was a warm heartfellt story that shows us we should never judge people, the most bautiful Mr.Grey was scarrend immensely and you would think he was the strong rock but surprizingly young Ana ended up being just that... the way the characters work through their grief and finally show how important communication with ones loved ones are i priceless and that the simplest form of sex has a direct line to true love... all the other trimmings are so unnecessary and can deceive from how love should acttully be... in the end love and life prevailed and they both received the most precious gift of all .. a new start!

I really was not that interested in reading this book. Decided to give it a chance and started on Saturday night. i just could not put the book down. By thursday i have completed all three books and have nerver enjoyed a read so much. Yes there is a lot of Repition but the story line itself is absolutely great. A big problem is that too much emphasis is given to the sex scenes and the story line falls away. the fact that Christian was given the raw end of the deal and only afer ana meets him does he realise that he also actually deserves to be loved is absolutely amazing. Read all three books before making up your mind and look pas t the sex.

very simple writing and if you are used to more sophisticated writing it could get a bit tiresome but it is a book that has made quite some noise so if for nothing else read it to see what all the fuss is about....

what a awesome lot of books. so many critics have been negative about these three books, but i think they should read them again. Great story line, one feels so sorry for Christiaan, and poor anastasia is a real clutz. I found these books very entertaining, humouris and sad so many emotions. GREAT BOOKS EL JAMES!!!!!
