The Proms showcases the best classical music artists and ensembles from around the UK and abroad, playing a mixture of popular favourites and newly commissioned premires, and is now the largest classical music festival in the world. This recording presents some of the popular classics that have become associated with the 'Last Night' of the Proms celebrations. The finale to the Proms series has become a riotous affair, with large crowds of people enjoying this less-formal approach to concert-going, by waving flags, clapping, cheering and generally enjoying the patriotic party atmosphere.
