The On Track with Maths course is especially designed for learners to have fun while developing sound mathematical knowledge and skills. It aims to solve the challenges of continuous outcomes-based assessment.
Some of the features of this course are:
- Activities and projects, which are practical, investigative extensions, promoting the principles of the Revised National Curriculum Statement: social justice, a healthy environment and human rights.
- Am I on Track? in the Learner's Book provides opportunities for informal assessment. It enables the teacher to make sure that learners understand the key concepts.
- The photocopiable checkpoint assessment record is a formal assessment rubric for rating. It enables the teacher to create a year-long assessment record for all learners. It is provided in the Teacher's Guide.
This course allows learners to work at their own pace: learners who understand a particular outcome can move ahead with that outcome, while learners who find concepts difficult can go back to previous units to consolidate the buiding blocks of that concept.
