Ten years after the introduction of a new curriculum in South Africa and five years after the publication of Promoting learner development, the editors believe it is time to look carefully at the successes and concerns associated with the introduction of inclusive education in Southern Africa (South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Lesotho) and to highlight strategies that have been shown to increase the likelihood of success. This title acknowledges the challenges associated with the introduction of inclusive education, particularly in Southern African contexts.
