Cohen's first trilogy of Columbia albums recorded between 1967 and 1970 have continued to inform and enlighten followers of each musical generation that has arisen ever since.
There are more than 720 cover versions and tributes of Cohen's songs by musicians of all genres around the world including Bob Dylan, U2, k.d. lang, Nick Cave, Rufus and Martha Wainwright, Jeff Buckley, Beth Orton, REM, Concrete Blonde, and most recently Fall Out Boy.
The timeless songs to be found on Cohen's first three albums have mystified poets and professors for ages, among them, "Suzanne", "Sisters of Mercy", "Bird on the Wire", and others.
Now these first three albums - 1967's SONGS OF LEONARD COHEN, 1969's SONGS FROM A ROOM, and 1970's SONGS OF LOVE AND HATE - are being made available, bringing the early catalogue of one of the most gifted songwriters of out time to existing fans and newcomers to Cohen's mesmerizing music.
The previosly unreleased bonus material on the three Leonard Cohen expanded edition CD's marks the first time that any of this music has surfaced.
Cohen personally oversaw the remastering and including of previously unreleased bonus tracks on all three albums, which also include full colour booklets with new liner notes by Rolling Stone editor, Anthony DeCurtis. Cohen is also releasing a brand new album in 2007.
