Saartjie reads a love story about two people who fell in love at school and got married years later after the girl had become a famous movie star. The tomboy from Lynnekom starts dreaming about such a great love and wonders what Galpil would do if she was to tell him that she had feelings for him. Would he change his ways and become more of a gentleman? Would he insist on people calling him by his real name? In the meantime Saartjie wants to buy her mother a special birthday gift. However, she does not have enough money and decides to ask her small brother for a loan. He won't let her forget this big favour he did her and in the end she wonders what got into her to do business with him. Late one evening our heroine looks down onto her suburb from her bedroom window and sees a suspicious-looking car circling the local bank. She decides to investigate and before long she is involved in an adventure that could be life threatening. Will a true hero appear to save her, or will she have to fight the crooks on her own?
