This course offers wonderful opportunities to explore technology within a South African context. It is a Foundation Phase Life Skills Learning Programme which supports Curriculum 2005. Each module includes case study tasks and resource tasks that are developed around a relevant Programme Organiser. The Programme Organisers provide child-friendly contexts for learning such as Rooms, Food, Puppets, Electricity and Hiking. Learners are thus introduced to key technological issue relating to housing, manufacturing , structures, energy and recreation. Learner-friendly workbooks are available for learners and provide activity sheets and self-assessment activities. There are also two Readers available for each grade and a Teacher's Resource Book which offers advice to teachers in managing the classroom as well as suggestions for support and extension activities.
