A must-read book

The little tagline probably has confused people: how could they have met and then gotten married at such disparate ages? Without giving too much away, Henry suffers from an illness that sends him backward or forward in time. As an epileptic would have a fit, instead he travels through time. He cannot take a thing with him when this occurs and always ends up whenever stark naked, which lands him in some scary and dangerous situations.
The relationship that he and Clare share is so strong, though all the weirdness and sadness. I often wonder whether she loved Henry because she knew him her whole life or if she loved him because she knew that they would get married.
They want to have a baby, but every baby that Clare falls pregnant with also time travels, but too soon to be able to support its own little body, and dies. They suffer but there is joy too. The end was terribly sad and I am not ashamed to admit that it made me cry. I read this book in 2006 and still remember it clearly and,, to me, that is the hallmark of a good story.

It took me a few pages to get into the whole time-travel thing, but once I was there, I absolutely loved it. It is essentially a love story, but one like you have never read before. A great and original story
