Wild Planet: Celebrating Wildlife Photographer of the Year

Short description

Includes 80 photographs that feature a wide range of natural subjects - from scenes of animal behaviour to landscapes - showing just how wonderful, dramatic and awe-inspiring wildlife on Earth is.

Long description

Wild Planet is a unique collection of arresting images from past years of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition - the international showcase for the very best photography featuring natural subjects. The most innovative and imaginative photographic images are judged and selected by a panel of experts. The chosen images form an exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London and around the world every year from the end of October. This beautiful book includes 80 specially selected photographs with extended captions that explain where and how each image was taken. The images include many previous winning entries and other highly commended photographs. They feature a wide range of natural subjects - from vivid scenes of animal behaviour to breathtaking landscapes - that show just how wonderful, dramatic and awe-inspiring wildlife on Earth is. There is a foreword by Chris Packham. Chris is a wildlife expert, TV presenter and past judge of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.

Review

You would expect a book such as this to be a stunning collection of images, and Wild Planet doesn't disappoint. BBC Wildlife Magazine ...charming book of photographs...images include wildlife from all five continents as well as landscapes of breathtaking beauty. Daily Express A collection of arresting images Waterstones Books Quarterly The book Wild Planet and its accompanying exhibition tour are a visual treat...the images in Wild Planet were specifically selected to showcase the diversity and beauty of the natural world, from a dry, desolate volcanic landscape to creatures living in lush rainforests or beneath the waves. Every image has an extended caption by the photographer that provides an insight into how and where the image was captured, as well as the equipment used. We'd highly recommend you purchase the book, but we'd also urge you to fix a date in your diary to visit the Wild Planet exhibition tour. Digital SLR Photography Magazine
