Greensleeves is a place of safety for children, housing children in-between foster care, or who have been abandoned by their families, or who have become orphaned.
It was founded 18 years ago by Di and Ian Lehy who never planned to open a Children's home - it was planned for them. Greensleeves is making a difference in the Eastern
Cape - so much so that Di was awarded Business Woman of the year in the Social Entrepreneur category on 31 July 2011. This organisation receives no government funding and
relies on the generosity of local businesses, individuals and many times, the Lehy's personal income.
They are currently building a pre-school for learners age 3 - 5 years which will open in 2012 and serve the local farming community. The new pre-school has no books
yet and your book donation will serve as the foundation for this incredible project. During this back to school period support these children and help them to get the
education they need.
Simply click on the 'Donate now' button below where you can select from a list of books that Greensleeves requires. Add it to your shopping cart and proceed to check-out.
Be sure to select 'kalahari.com book donation' as your delivery address. This will ensure that all the books you buy are donated to kalahari.com free of delivery charges.
Remember, you can still add your MySchool card number to raise funds for your current beneficiary.
Note: This address is only for books donated to Greensleeves and not for parcel collections.
kalahari.com together with MySchool have partnered in an initiative to donate books to underprivileged schools on a national scale. This project seeks to encourage learning
and reading habits among children. Every year, a new school is selected with the help of MySchool to receive these books. Most often these books are used to stock a library at
the schools. We encourage you to join us in this effort by simply purchasing any of the selected books. Delivery on these orders will be free of charge. So make a difference
today by donating a book now!
MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet is South Africa's biggest fundraising programme.
With your help they raise over R2.2 million every month for over 9000 schools, charities, environmental & animal welfare organisations - and boast 12 national partners
