Nothern Sotho
Northern Sotho is the home language of about 4,2 million people in South Africa and is mostly spoken in Limpopo and Gauteng. The translations of the the Bible into Northern Sotho was first undertaken by the missionaries of the Berlin Missionary Society. The first complete Bible appeared in 1904 and was revised in 1951. This revised edition is still in use today. The latest translation in Northern Sotho, translated by ds Murray Louw, as published in 2000 and is today referred to as the New Translation or the "Taba ye Botse". This is a more dynamic and modern translation.
