Baie gemaklik inderdaad. My gunstelike musiek.

Truly captivating book by Deon Meyer. I could just not put it down, as you can't help but to be drawn into the suspense and tension taking hold of the main character, Bennie Griesel. This gives a good view of the working dynamics of the Hawks, an organization of which we know preciously little.

Being an English language reader I was a bit panicked about the daunting task of reading my first Afrikaans book in twenty years. Fortunately Meyer's pace of writing remains constant through language barriers and characters come across exactly the same. This story, involving the daily killings of police officers by a sniper seeking the resolution of (ironically) the murder of commercial attorney, is as the others extremely fast paced and filled with unexpected turns and surprises. The further exploration of the humanity of Griesel character again impresses Meyer's ability to develop colourful first person storytelling.

Deon Meyer se opvolg van 13 Uur is so uitstekend soos sy voorganger.
