Short description

Contains a sneak preview of Inferno, Dan Brown's astonishing new Robert Langdon thriller.
The Capitol Building, Washington DC: Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon believes he is here to give a lecture. He is wrong. Within minutes of his arrival, a shocking object is discovered. It is a gruesome invitation into an ancient world of hidden wisdom.

Long description

When Langdon's mentor, Peter Solomon - prominent mason and philanthropist - is kidnapped, Langdon realizes that his only hope of saving his friend's life is to accept this mysterious summons.

It is to take him on a breathless chase through Washington's dark history. All that was familiar is changed into a shadowy, mythical world in which Masonic secrets and never-before-seen revelations seem to be leading him to a single impossible and inconceivable truth...

Dan Brown always keeps you on the edge of your seat with each page you read. This book is no exception and makes yet another brilliant story in the series of Robert Langdon.

  Trying too hard

I think Dan Brown is trying too hard to write another "Da Vinci Code" Sorry Dan, it normally happens once in a lifetime. Your characters are flat, the symbology is forced and your plot is just a bit too far-fetched. !spoiler alert! An old man who loses a body part in the morning, walks around the same evening, calmly explaining everything to professor Langdon, despite the trauma he has just lived through. Yeah right

Really enjoyed Dan Brown's latest offering. Loved the symbology and the setting in Washington really made for a fascinating tale. As always it was exciting as ever and I really struggled to put it down from about half way in.
