I have both the Sony PRS505 and PRS300 and the iRiver. Although the Sony is much better in style, the iRiver is much better in performance. It is much quicker when loading and deleting books. The iRiver takes under 5 mins to reset itself, but the Sony takes almost 15 minutes (I have the same number of books on both readers). The iRiver has the added advantage that you can seach via text for both author or title whereas the Sony you can only use the menu's to search. Searching for a page number within your ebook is better on the Sony. There are much more accessories for the Sony. The Sony has an annoying way of resetting itself sometimes when you click too soon when it it seaching for something, so I just pull out the iRiver and read something else while the Sony gets over itself. All in all, I enjoy reading off both, but because speed is something I look for I would choose the iRiver

I absolutely love my e-reader!
I take it everywhere I go.
I have stored a few CD's on it, so if I'm not reading I listen to music! its great.
the best gadget I've ever bought myself
I download books from Kalahari and load it to my reader with in minutes.. its great!
I highly recommend it.
the e-ink technology is great on my eyes, looks just like ink on paper...!
buy one, you wont be sorry :)

iRiver Story versus Cooler

I have bought both and must say that the iRiver Story is in my opinion a much better quality product than the Cooler. Although the Cooler does not weigh as much as the iRiver Story (only 100g difference).

I have used both the iRiver Story and the iFoxit eSlick.
iRiver may read more formats, however it is heavier than the eSlick and must SLOWER to open books.
Would recommend the eSlick over the iRiver anytime.
(Not sure, but I believe the Bookeen Cybook Gen3 to be the same as the eSlick - they look exactly the same).
