I just adore Jamie Oliver and I think he is just the cutest Kid! I love everything about him…his cute looks, his wonderful family, the way he presents the food he makes, his recipe books, the way he built his success and the way he made homemade cooking and baking hip… but will I be objective?
This book is Jamie Oliver’s 12th recipe book. Although I am a big fan of his, I only own four of them. Receiving this book has once again made me aware of how talented he is.
Jamie’s 30 Minute Meals focuses on getting organized and doing some preparations. In his wonderful quest to teach the whole world to eat healthier and propagating home cooking, Jamie devised this book with recipes, which will enable you to prepare a whole meal, with pudding, every day of the week.
The book offers fifty varied meals ranging from vegetarian to red meat. The recipes include meals for seafood, poultry, red meat, vegetarian meals and a variety of pastas. It also features side dishes and desserts. The meals are easy to make and most of them make use of ingredients that are easily obtainable.
Some of the recipes are marked and then you can watch a video on Jamie’s website teaching you some of the techniques and basics of the recipes - I enjoyed this the most!!
I have made a few of the meals and they were all much enjoyed by family and other guests.
One thing that I really did not like about this recipe book was the fact that you were supposed to make everything in 30 minutes! I really think that some food just cannot be cooked in 30 minutes or less. I love cooking and part of the fun in the kitchen, for me, is to take time. I felt much pressured to make these meals in 30 minutes and since I could never comply, I was feeling like I have failed!!??
Notwithstanding the fact that I don’t feel it will be possible to prepare all of these meals in 30 minutes, I still think that this is a wonderful recipe book. It will make an excellent Christmas gift to experienced and inexperienced beloved ones that enjoys cooking!
Thanks to ‘PinkPolkaDot’ and Food 24 for reviewing Jamie Oliver’s ‘Jamie’s 30 minute meals’ for Kalahari.net.

This is a fab little cookbook. Great tasting recipes that look good but aren't too complicated. The spinach and feta filo pie is a winner! Has more range of tastes than Ministry of Food.
