Drifta - Be Cautious
Reviewed by Nadeem from Cape Town on 03 April 2013
This device was a disappointment and I'm sending it back. Connecting is an issue as it loses connection all the time. However the biggest disappointment is the picture quality. If you are used to DSTV broadcasts then this device will disappoint. The picture quality is comparable to a low resolution YouTube stream.

Great value for money

Although I was initially disappointed when I realised that the drifta only supports a 320 X 240 pixel resolution - even when watching on your PC - the quality is not bad. It's great to be able to watch the rugby live on Saturdays at a monthly subscription of only R49 per month.

Easy to set up and great product. Makes sure of coverage before purchasing, check out www.dstvmobile.com for coverage map. Battery life is on the short side when using with an iPad, but comes with USB charger, so could be charged in a car even.

I really hope they add some decent channels soon, the selection is VERY limited - it's like having an awesome cellphone but nobody to call! lol

Not up to scratch

I bought this mainly to keep up to date with the cricket whilst at work.
The picture quality is poor.Often when a delivery is bowled, you cant see it.
On screen stats and scores are barely legible. And the audio is always out of sync by 2-3 seconds. This is with a 100% signal! I wasn't expecting HD quality but for R600 plus an upcoming monthly subscription, I was expecting better than what is on offer.
