Nick (Jesse Eisenberg) is a small town pizza delivery guy whose mundane life collides with the big plans of two wannabe criminal masterminds (Danny McBride and Nick Swardson). The volatile duo kidnaps Nick and forces him to rob a bank. With mere hours to pull off the impossible task, Nick enlists the help of his ex-best friend, Chet (Aziz Ansari). As the clock ticks, the two must deal with the police, hired assassins, flamethrowers, and their own tumultuous relationship.

Is it possible for one actor to singularly destroy a film? Danny McBride has never had the sharpest of tongues but his lack of good delivery of humour in my view was the major factor in the destruction of this film. Every scene that features McBride is an experience akin to chewing on shards of verbally abrasive glass. His humour is flat and whatever low-brow comedy he was aiming towards dies in what one can only assume to be his pseudo-redneck sense for improvisation. This isn’t for everyone, if you’re part of the demographic that enjoys McBride’s screen presence, than you will enjoy it. If you refuse to lower yourselves to that level, perhaps give this one a little thought before committing to a purchase.
