In 1994, STAR TREK had to take a backseat to this science-fiction series, created by J. Michael Straczynski. The Babylon 5 space station has become an interplanetary peaceful negotiation center in the 23rd century, as humans and aliens attempt to settle differences in a reasonable fashion here under the stewardship of President John J. Sheridan (Bruce Boxleitner). This boxed set includes all 22 episodes of the entire first season, covering a wide array of topics including political persecution, alcoholism, seductive slaves, religion, and the ways of the Narn.

  Genesis to a Saga that spans the Universe

I came into Babylon 5 late, at the end of the third season I think. I was supremely satisfied at finding this great epic available from Kalahari from start to finish (eventually). In this first instalment of the Babylon Saga, you're unseremoniously dumped into the chaos and intrigue that is the Babylon station. I was surprised and somewhat wary of finding Commander Sinclair in charge and not the Captain Sheridan I knew. But he proved to be a likable character and I enjoyed watching the characters I knew from the last season unfold and grow from their not-so-humble beginnings. I was on the watch for Shadows and was not disappointed by their subtle introduction every now and again in the story-line. As mayhem goes, the last episode is the kicker, as it appears that the whole universe is going down the drain, rather risky by Michael Straczynski and showing a lot of faith in his producers and the fans. Overall a definite must box-set for any Babylon 5 fan. There are cool extras and the layout of the set is superb. Enjoy!!!
