Short description

Patience Philips is dead – and more alive than ever. Murdered after she learns the secret behind a cosmetic firm’s anti-aging cream, she’s revived and empowered by mystical felines. Now she’s on the slinky prowl for adventure and revenge. She’s Catwoman. Academy Award® winner* Halle Berry plays the sleek, whip-cracking feline fatale, Benjamin Bratt is a cop torn between romance and duty, and Sharon Stone is an ice-blooded supermodel with something to hide in a kicky and stylish Catwoman. With catlike grace, a knack for landing on her feet, a passion for sushi and a loathing for dogs, Berry is a perfect force to reckon with. She’s action. With attitude.

I remember when I was 10 years old, a movie was released called "Batman Returns" starring once again as Batman the thespian Michael Keaton. It was the second Batman film which introduced us to the characters Penguin and more importantly Catwoman. Michelle Pfeiffer was the sexy vixen chosen to portray this tough-as-nails semi-villian. That was a great movie. I have it in my collection. Quite obviously the movie did really well, because a short time later "Batman Forever" was released. The horse known as the Batman movie genre died. They finally buried the by now stinking corpse of the horse by letting loose on the world a turkey called "Batman and Robin". It died out faster than the Ketchup song. It would seem as if DC comics have ignored their past failures recently by digging up the grave of this long-dead horse and kicking it a couple of times to try and get it up and running again by releasing the stinker of a film I am reviewing here today. They casted Halle Berry in the main role. That's the good news. Now the other news. I as an adult movie-goer I am getting tired of film-makers who try to cater for every single group of the viewing audiences. The film is based on a well-known comic book. So the avid comic fans have been looked after. Catwoman (I didn't say Halle) has the sex-appeal of a PG13 movie. So the horny 13 year-olds have been looked after. The film consists of action scenes only seen in PG13 movies. So the not-yet-scarred 10 year-olds have been looked after. The plot commands the plausibility of a PG movie. So the pre-school 4 year-olds have been looked after. The trailer of the movie was good, so I was duped into thinking my interests were being looked after. I was quite wrong indeed. I find it intellectually stimulating trying to think of how they could've made the film worse. You'll find it challenging after watching the film. So as my advice to all - If you're a kid younger than 15 (or a parent of one) with extra pocket money, get X-men or Spiderman. If you're an adult (18+) who has seen the film and is still considering to purchase this film for entertainment purposes, click "NO" and go see a psychologist/psychiatrist/sangoma ASAP!

No wonder it's in the bargain bin. The worst superhero movie in ages ... and it's a pity. Could have been one for the girls... But it sucks.
