Short description

The old ultra-violence is back, as ultra-brilliant as anything Stanley Kubrick ever directed. Demonic gang-leader Alex - Malcolm McDowell's defining performance - goes on a spree of rape, mugging and murder with his pack of "droogs". But he's a boy who also likes Beethoven's Ninth and a bit of "the old in-out, in-out". Then he finds himself at the mercy of the state and its brainwashing experiment designed to take violence off the streets and put it at the service of the government.

      Controversy incarnate

The story of Alex, a misguided young man, who gets of on Beethoven, violence, and raping middle-aged women. His trail of ultra violence lands him in the clutches of state sponsored brainwashers, who conditions him to react with horror and pain at any display of violence. This is a film about free choice, and the consequences of removing will. Thougt pro@#$ing, subversive, and confrontational, this is Kubrick's best film, light years ahead of the pretentious nonsense that is 2001:A space oddesey. This seminal classic, easily the most controversial movie of the seventies, so outraged the British public, that Kubrick pulled it from circulation. He was inundated by death threats, espescially after a group of youths mimicked a scene from the film, and raped a girl while singing the song 'Singing in the rain '. This is one movie you won't forget. You'll be discussing it with your friends decades from now.
