Short description

A special effects phenomenon!

Journey back in time 65 million years, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and meet Aladar, an iguanadon accidentally separated from his own species while still inside the egg. Luckily he hatches into the loving care of a clan of lemurs, including the wisecracking Zini and the compassionate Plio. But, when a devastating meteor shower strikes the earth, their home is destroyed, and Aladar and his new family must join a group of dinosaurs on a treacherous journey to the safety of the nesting grounds.

      Realistic Computer Animated Dinosaur Story!

    I thought the computer animation was amazing and it did a good job of making dinosaurs more real for the children (and for me). The story was big and enjoyable and it kept us all entertained. Parental Guidance is recommended if not just for the carnotaur scene towards the end but I was surprised that my 2 and 4 year olds weren't scared by it. Overall I found this movie good family fun.

    Between this Disney movie and the BBC's "Walking with Dinosaurs/Cavemen & Beasts DVD's" my kids (1 and 3 years old), and their Dad, is having a whale of a time. The animation and story line is classic Disney, with loads of action and "Ahh, shame" moments. The animation is excellent and even the scary parts where the carnitaurs attack, are entertaining. Kids learn subtle life lessons and LOVE all the characters. This is a MUST BUY for any DVD collection. The story is universal and will not date (well, definitely not in the next 65 million years!). Money well spent...
