The third of an enthralling series. A must for all who yearn for a time when living was refined to a gracious art. Beautifully written and played by some of Britain's best actors. It is one of those films that one says "Oh no!" when it comes to the end. Hope there will be a season 4 very soon

Top notch TV series

Downton Abbey is very well written as well as acted series. I think it is a modern twist on an older series called Upstairs Downstairs, but has a fresh and gripping plot. The actors all play their part convincingly, a joy to watch.

This series is invaluable to keep personally or give as a present - it may be watched time and again. Downton Abbey can be watched on a number of levels and so is able to please a wide range of people. First simply watch it as a drama series - even better if you've already watched series 1 and 2. Various plot lines are intertwined and include a range of love interest, tragedy, disaster, intrigue and scandal, and the relationships between "upstairs" and "downstairs". However, watch it also for an insight into the social customs and class divisions in the UK before and after the 1st world war. Watch it too if you have an interest in gardens, or for fashion trends - the attention to detail on clothing, hair, jewellery styling is wonderful. Watch it too for the manners and style of the upper classes, faced with more than half a dozen spoons, would you know which was for what purpose? In short, whoever, you are there is something to interest you.

Downton Abbey can be rated as one of the most watchable TV series of that era. The acting is superb and the costumes elegant and exemplary. As Shirley Maclaine said in the series...."It's got class!" And it certainly has. A real magic.

I did not think that Julian Fellowes could surpass Series 1 and 2. It is difficult to imagine that all this happened less than a century ago. Maggie Smit and Hugh Bonnievale are as good as ever. Cannot wait for the next series.

Downton Abbey Series 3 continues the excellent script and acting we have come to expect from this series.
If you have seen the other 2 series, you will want to own this the last(?)section of the story covering the social changes experienced by all classes after WW1 in England.

The continuation of a very enjoyable series. The writer has to be congratulated on characterisation that is consistent and delightful. This series takes us into the social change that was evident in the UK in the 1920.
