Al Debbo en Frederik Burgers kielie behoorlik die lagspiere in hierdie fliek oor twee swape wat hul lyf soldaat probeer hou. Twee vriende besluit om by die leër aan te sluit om ´n bietjie geld te verdien. Tydens hul opleiding sien hulle twee rekrute wat oral loop en foto´s neem en hulle ruik onraad. Hulle besluit om die boewe uit te vang voordat hulle die leër se "geheime wapen" ontdek, maar intussen is hulle sulke hopelose soldate dat hul bevelvoerders nie kan wag om van hulle ontslae te raak nie.

This slapstick armed-forces comedy stars pop-eyed South African funny man, Al Debbo, and his chubby sidekick, Fred Burgers. Taking a shortcut across the veld, dim-witted duo Fanie and Stoffie find themselves in the middle of a military exercise. Dodging explosions and artillery fire, they decide it would be safer - and more profitable - to face the flak from the inside and they join the army. But their inability to march, cook or even salute exasperates the top brass, who want to get rid of them. But how? When Fanie and Stoffie overhear a conversation, they become convinced a plot is afoot to sell South Africa´s "top secret weapon" to the enemy. When it turns out to be a hoax, the red-faced two resign - to join the Navy! One of the funniest scenes is a harmless prank changing Fanie into "Fanny" - possibly one of the earliest South African film references to a sex-change operation
