Short description

Trapped in their New York apartment's "panic room", a hidden chamber built as a sanctuary in the event of break-in's, a newly-divorced woman, Meg Altman (Jodie Foster) and her young daughter, Sarah, play a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with three intruders during a brutal home invasion.   A gripping thriller

The movie doesn't take long to get going, almost immediately you see intruders arrive at the house in the middle of the night trying various ways to get inside the house. The camera angles here add to the suspense. The woman and her daughter flee to the panic room and start strategising on how to get rid of the intruders. Various situations follow that makes the viewer doubt if the woman and daughter will make it out of the house alive. Jodie Foster and Kristen Stewart portrays a real mother-daughter relationship that is very convincing. Jared Leto and Forest Whitaker put in stellar performances as well, a must-see!

The story itself is highly original and very well thought out. It is the best thing about the movie. The script is awesome because it provides for tons of suspense mixed in with twists, turns, and plenty of close calls that are guaranteed to keep you glued to the screen. The script also provides for funny and brilliant dialogue that helps to give all of the characters an extra edge. The actors all do an outstanding job. Jodie Foster's portrayal of Meg is excellent. She is highly intelligent, fast on her feet, and shows tons of love and determination towards her daughter Sarah. Forrest Whitaker his the role of Burnham right on the button. He posseses the intelligence that was responsible for the room being built, but also the cold and calculating traits of a great villan. Dwight Yokam also makes a menacing villan with Raul. My favorite actor in the film was Jared Leto. His portrayal of Junior will make you laugh with all of his constant temper tantrums and rash behavior. The film's only downfall was the frustating ending!!!!. Nonetheless,. "Panic Room" is smart, quick, and is sure to keep you glued!
