Average but still worth the money

"Proof of Life" is hardly Oscar award-winning stuff but you could definitely do worse. Russel Crowe is up to his usual awesomely cool antics and by my account, his role alone could be said to be the film's redeeming grace. Lots of action and suspense (including a special forces raid on an enemy camp) to keep the guys happy and some token romance is also thrown in to keep the girls watching (as if they needed one aside from Russel Crowe, lol). On a more technical note, the dvd's sound seems to be spot on and I didn't have any problems with playback, so full marks on that account. The special features are standard fare but include a pretty cool "Making of the film" featurette which is also worth watching, so all in all I rate this film quite highly and I'll definitely watch it again soon.
