Derek and Beverly Joubert have outdone themselves with this incredible documentary. Being an avid collector of documentaries on the big cats, particularly the Lion, I have to confess that this is the best in my collection. The documentary is narrated by Jeremy Irons, amd he brings the story to life with his expressive interpretation of the journey of a lone mother lioness and her cubs. The passion with which this presentation is approached reduced me to laughter, tears and horror at the mater of fact way nature deals with the daily lives of both predator and prey. The filming of this gem is superb and for those of your who appreciate the time it takes to capture the footage of the wild life which we witness in the comfort of our own home, you will admire the tenacity and determination of the Joubert's in their endeavour to bring the real threat to these wonderful creatures (lions) to our attention.
There are many extras on this DVd which add to the delight of a wonderful addition to ones wildlife library. Thank you National Geographic. Thank you Derek and Beverly for your unending fight for the survival of our African heritage.
