War Horse is a visually stunning, and genuinely heart-warming story. Joey, the stallion, is the star here, profoundly affecting all those whose ownership he comes under during The Great War. Put away your cynicism and let it sweep you away on an epic and beautiful journey. I cried like a baby!

War Horse - an exceptional film.
Reviewed by Audrey from Springs, South Africa. on 22 October 2012
What a beautifully crafted film, heartwarming, attention to historical detail, restrained in its depiction of the horrors of the Great war. The actors were all excellent and the horses of course . . . . just amazing. Thoroughly recommended.

Good Cheese

War Horse embraces everything that Steven Spielberg is known for, the love for adventure, the heartache of loss and despair, the triumph of friendship, and the delights of his boyish infatuation for the battlefield. It’s also one of the cheesiest films I’ve ever seen – I mean that in the most positive way of course. It’s extremely watchable…it’s good cheese.

A Triumphant Epic

War Horse is an epic coming of age tale of the truest loyalty. Steven Spielberg creates a marvelous World War 1 story, centered on Joey, a horse that impacts the lives of everyone who crosses his path, and Albert (Jeremy Irvine), his loving owner who will go to any extent to protect their bond. A triumph of determination and a triumph of filmmaking.
