In this series Shakespeare’s texts have been modernised and slightly abridged: at the same time the spirit, the metre and much of the poetry of the originals have been maintained. These versions have been studied and performed with great success by first- and second-language students in many schools and tertiary institutions throughout South Africa.
Each version includes a glossary and commentary, background notes, exercises and illustrations.
