Single Player- 7/10
From what I played, seems average at best. Tries to be COD, and that's the problem. There is flashes of brilliance, but doesnt feel as cool. To be completed though.
Graphics - 10/10
In single player, its amazing. The multiple light sources (including explosions, flares, bullet tracers etc...) are brilliant. Ambient Occlusion, smoke, dust, bullet holes. Best I have ever seen. Not the extreme level of detail as Crysis ,but doesn't need to. more about atmosphere.
Destruction is not window dressing, but a critical game element. A map at the start of a round is a different map to that at the end of the round in MP. EVERY wall can be shot down. every tower, tree, pole, tower, fence can be destroyed. Windows pop when a grenade or rocket launcher back blast goes off in the room. Besides adding the most palatable atmosphere ever seen in a game, it adds tons to the game play. I use smoke to get up close now. I shoot snipers out of buildings, shooting the floor under them.
Just note on PC. Max detail, no slowdown, ultra solid frame rate on a 6870. Can see a quad core CPU is critical if you want every tree to sway, every brick to fly, every crate to shake when a tank blasts nearby.
Sound - 10/10
Best In game sound I have ever heard. Especially in multiplayer. Every bullet, rocket, explosion, jet and chopper has the perfect reverb, distortion, crackle and echo. So much so that you might think its post production. In a 64man MP map, it's incredible. 5.1 sound a must.
Multiplayer - 9/10
It is Battlefield 2.5. And that's not a bad thing. Jets, choppers, tanks, apc's and boats. The class system is excellent. The web interface has been a pleasure. Definitely the best MP game ever made.
Why I didn't give it 10/10... the in game COMM system. They made it a separate origin element. not like BF2 where you join a squad, and automatically have comms with your squad mates. Now you have to have buddies in a list join comms before hand and join a map as a party. This is quite a letdown. Hopefully they patch this.
Overall it deserves a 9/10. SP doesnt seems OK, not great .
If I had to review the game based on just MP gets 9.5/10 - Dice fix your comms.

After disputes with store managers, threatening staff, ranting to costumer care officials and swearing off gaming stores, i finally ordered online yesterday and had Battlefield 3 delivered this morning. Thank you for the awesome service. The game is amazing

BRILLIANT game. amazing service from Kalahari, pre-ordered at the best price. Kalahari not only ensured I received the limited edition game on the day of release, they included the SPECTACT DLC kit for free. I am very impressed with my first game pre-order on Kalahari and will definitely continue buying from them in the future.
