Penned by legendary comic book artist Joe Madureira (X-Men, Battle Chasers, The Ultimates), Darksiders: Wrath of War is set in a Post-Apocalyptic demon-ravaged world where evil forces have prematurely brought about the end of the time. Originally sent to oversee the destruction of Earth, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have been betrayed by their master, stripped of their powers and cast down to Earth. Players take on the role of WAR—the first of the Four Horsemen—as he embarks on a brutal quest of vengeance and revenge against the forces that betrayed him with the help of his phantom steed RUIN. Darksiders: Wrath of War features open-world exploration, a deep combat system and a huge arsenal of modern and mythical weapons.

Long description

Darksiders is a single-player action adventure in which the player takes control of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In third-person perspective, the player engages in combat, puzzles and exploration. The world is divided into separate locations with many areas at first initially inaccessible until War regains many of his lost weapons and abilities. The center of the world, The Scalding Gallow, acts as a hub where War is given new objectives and paths to further unlock new areas. Each contains a series of linear and non-linear paths, many of which require large sections of platforming, climbing and swimming along environment-based puzzles that impair progress and require the use of newly-gained abilities. He fights mainly against angels and demons, and has a unique way to kill each particular type of enemy, usually tearing them apart painfully.

Sound 3.5/5 Nothing really out of the ordinary but solid non the less with some really good voice acting Story 4/5 Story is pretty good, and keeps you intrigued enough to keep playing with some minor twists and turns. Interesting characters are thrown into the mix as well Gameplay 4/5 Darksiders is very akin to legend of zelda, lots of puzzle solving, exploration. combat is smooth and fun and unlocking and buying new abilities and skills is really fun. sometimes the combat can feel repetitive. Graphics 4/5 Graphics are really good in this game. environments are varied and really reflect the themes and characters have a comic-like but really cool feel to them. 15.5/20

Darksiders is an awesome adventure game with an excellent story-line. The gameplay is very easy to grasp with nice camera angles throughout:) This game is definately worth everyt cent and it will keep you entertained for long hours. I personally like the fact that there are different characters and puzzles that needs to be solved in order to progress. Overall I would recommend this game to everyone who likes this genre of adventure games: two thumbs up!
