Short description

Gears of War 2 is a third-person shooter video game. In Gears of War 2, the COG continues its fight against the Locust horde, who are attempting to sink all of the cities on the planet Sera. Sergeant Marcus Fenix leads Delta Squad into the depths of the planet to try to stop the Locust during the assault upon Locust territory. The player controls Fenix in the main mission campaign, with the ability to play cooperatively with a second player controlling Fenix's best friend and fellow Squad member Dominic ""Dom"" Santiago. The game includes several existing and new multiplayer modes including five-on-five battles between human and Locust forces, and a ""Horde"" mode that challenges up to five players against waves of Locust forces with ever-increasing strength. New weapons and gameplay mechanics such as ""chainsaw duels"" and the ability to use downed foes as ""meatshields"" were added to the game.

Players continue as Marcus Fenix, a reluctant war hero and leader of Delta Squad, six months after the events of ""Gears of War."" The last cities on Sera are sinking, swallowed by a new Locust threat from below. A massive counterattack is humanity's last hope for survival. Gears of War 2 blends a best-in-class third-person shooter with unsurpassed high-definition visuals, all layered on top of an engaging story of survival, loss and retribution. Gears of War 2 is developed by Epic Games exclusively for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system."

My hubby LOVES this game! I bought him Gears of War 3 when he first got his XBox. I was going to buy Gears of War 4 - but it's a bit rich at the moment so I'll wait a bit (or at least until he's finished this game).

This was the words of Cliff Blezenski, lead designer and creator of GOW 2. And that was so true. The way the graphics, the dialogue, the guns, the enemies, the storyline and the gameplay was incorporated was truly the recipe for one of the most hotly anticipated title of 2008. And boy, did it deliver. The storylin's a bit short 'cause Epic(company creator of the GOW franchise) wanted it to be good quality instead of quantity. If yo've complted the storyline there's online waitng for you or a new mode that can be played offline as well as online, named Horde. This is one of the best and favourite modes in GOW2 amongst gamers. Here you must fight wave after wave of enemies and with each number the total and difficulty of them increased. It goes up to wave 50. There is still a few time in he game that they uses God's name in vain.For me a good setting in the game is that you can put up a filter to decrease the gore and strong language. That impressed me. Everybody's favourite chainsaw wielder, Marcus Fenix, is back and together with Delta Squad and his best friend Dom, the want to destroy all the Locusts that wants to destroy the last standing city on earth, Jacinto. On they way to do it, Marcus and Dom is searching for Dom's wife Maria that was taken hostage on Emergence day(from the first Gears). On this fatefull day all hell broke loose when a sudden attack from the Locusts came and try to take over the world and destroy and then you detonated the Lightmass bomb(GOW1). It not only failed to kill all the Locust Hordes but releade a gas that makes the stronger! So will you and Delta Squad in GOW2 save Jacinto. All relies on your shoulders. GOW2's ending is a little blunt, but that make's room for the prequal, Gears of War 3(GOW3). GOW2 uses the same Unreal Engine as GOW1 but Epic has put lighting effects like Hollywood in that makes this a very dramatic game. Truly, this is pushing the boundaries of what next generation games can achieve!
