    Important Information - Please Read

To add Miiverse and other features to Wii U, simply connect your Wii U console to the Internet and perform a system update. Due to the amount of new features and applications included, the system update may take an extended amount of time when performed during the initial setup (for some users it could take an hour or more to download and install). The length of time it takes to perform a system update varies depending on the speed of the Internet connection used. Also, in the period following launch, be aware that increased traffic to Nintendo's servers could extend the download time.
The size of the update ranges from 1GB to 5GB, depending on the Wii U model you have.

Better than my Xbox 360 and PS3!

The number one reason as to why I buy my consoles in the first place- EXCLUSIVES! The thing that drew me to the Wii U however, wasn’t the exclusives- it simply doesn’t have any exclusives worth mentioning- YET! No! What had me put down my money was the new form of gaming using the innovative touchpad. It can stream games directly to the controller without taking up your television. So somebody could be watching something on the TV whilst you’re playing games on the Wii U gamepad. With absolutely no slow response at all. This might seem like a very little quirk, but its usefulness and convenience really starts to show once you find yourself lying in bed playing something like Mass Effect 3 Special Edition on the new controller’s smaller screen or Call of Duty Black Ops 2 co-operatively with one player using the television and the other the Wii U gamepad thus effectively nullifying the need for a split screen. I‘ve been playing games for a good 20+ years and the one thing I can’t seem to stress enough is that innovation is the life blood of the gaming industry and that’s exactly what the Wii U represents- Innovation. You don’t have to take my word for it though, play something like Zombi U and see for yourself. The Wii U gives new life to games that are currently on other consoles too. BatMan Arkym City being a prime example. Lastly as a platform for the entire household, you really can’t go wrong with the Wii U. It really does cater for everyone. From big to small, hardcore to casual gamer. With titles like Zombi U and Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge for the hardened gamer like myself to New Super Mario Bros U, Nintendoland and Sing for my 6 year old niece. In concluding my review I could have mentioned stellar exclusive franchises like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda , Metroid or the inevitable sequel to the sublime Xenoblade that will eventually find its way on the Wii U as with any other Nintendo consoles, but that would be selling the Wii U short. What makes the Wii U great is that it’s a completely fresh, innovative take on gaming.
