The pottery scene with the Righteous Brothers' version of 'Unchained Melody' playing in the background, the scene where you hear Sam's footsteps when he runs after his killer, the scene where he meets Oda Mae for the first time and the scene where he lifts the coin off the floor to prove to Molly that his undying love for her, has kept him from crossing over are a few of many memorable scenes in movie history. These scenes are all encompassed in one film. 'Ghost'. Its no surprise that this film won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay. Watching it recently reminds me that it is still as fresh, witty and incredibly moving as it was when I cried my eyes out for the first time, years ago. Starring the late Patrick Swayze as the charming Sam Wheat, Demi Moore (who can cry on cue) as the beautiful Molly and Academy Award winning actress Whoopi Goldberg as Oda Mae Brown, a character that you can't help but laugh at and a character that you can't help falling in love with. 'Ghost' gets right what a lot of films fail to do these days- transcending genres. This film is a melting pot of all the genres out there- romance, comedy, thriller, horror and drama. This film will forever be a favourite of mine. It makes me laugh and it makes me cry. I am sure when I proclaim that I love this film many will shout in unison...'Ditto'...
