Welcome to kalahari.com's eMagazine help page, offering all the help you need to search, purchase and download an eMagazine.
kalahari.com is now selling eMagazines from Zinio.com, the world's largest newsstand who will provide a selection of your
favourite South African titles in digital format, with new titles and issues being added frequently.
Step 1 - Click here and search through the eMagazine titles.
Step 2 - Buy a subscription or single issue on kalahari.com
Step 3 - If you haven't already signed up, you will need to create a kalahari.com account.
Step 4 - You must go to your LibraryBox on kalahari.com, and click the download button. You will be redirected to the Zinio.com registration page if it's your first
visit to Zinio.com where you will need to register. Because you need to use the same e-mail address as your kalahari.com account, this will already appear in the e-mail field.
(Please note after clicking the download button for the first time in LibraryBox the download button disappears, but a record of your subsection will remain.)
Step 5 - Once on Zinio.com, please download the Zinio Reader to your desktop.
Step 6 - Go to "My Library" on Zinio.com where you can download your eMagazine to your desktop. Zinio.com will send you an email notifying you of your next issue.
Those are the basics and by now you should be ready to read your eMagazines! For more information see some frequently asked questions below.
You will read your eMagazines from the Zinio reader application you have now downloaded to your desktop. This application will become your Library of eMagazines on your computer.
Go to Zinio.com and do the following:
- Create Login – you must use the same password as your kalahari.com account or you won't receive your order.
- Download the Zinio Reader software
- Visit My Library on Zinio.com and download your eMagazine
Once you have downloaded your eMagazines, they can be viewed without an internet connection from your computer. One benefit of using the desktop Reader is that pages load
quickly because the magazine file is being read directly from your computer and not over an internet connection.
If you want to read your magazine while you are online, you can use the Zinio online reader.
A record of all the eMagazines you have purchased from kalahari.com will also stay in your LibraryBox on kalahari.com.
When you subscribe to an eMagazine your kalahari.com user email address will be sent to Zinio.com who will keep a record of your subscription and will be responsible for sending
you all the issues in your subscription.
As soon as the new issue becomes available, you will receive an email notification from Zinio.com that will direct you to the My Library section on the Zinio.com website where
you can view your magazine online or trigger it to download for offline viewing. If you have the Offline Reader installed and don't do anything, your magazine will download
automatically at some point in the course of the day. By default, the Offline Reader periodically checks to see if there is anything new to download and automatically downloads it for you if there is!
If you miss an issue, please contact Zinio Customer support at support@zinio.com
Zinio.com's My Library is where you go to download the actual file you have ordered on kalahari.com. Subsequent issues of the magazine will be stored here for download in the future.
kalahari.com's LibraryBox is where a record of all your eBooks and eMagazines are stored as a kalahari.com Customer.
To access these tools you will need to remember your kalahari.com login and password and your Zinio.com login and password – keep these in a safe place.
Reading eMagazines is easy - to move from page to page, use the left and right arrow keys at the top of the toolbar. Alternatively, you can use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard
or click on the lower corners of a magazine to flip through pages.
You can zoom by clicking anywhere on the page of the magazine or by clicking on the magnifying glass button (with the plus symbol) on the toolbar. While in zoom mode, you can click on the
space bar to read a page and be taken to the top of the next page when you've reached the end of the current page. To zoom back to the standard two-page view, simply click anywhere on the
magazine or click on the magnifying glass (with the minus symbol).
Once you get the hang of moving forward and back and zooming, you can explore other great navigational features such as the scrollbar and table of contents button. If you have the Offline
Reader installed, you can click on the help button on your toolbar for more tips.
Yes. It is no problem to have your magazine on more than one computer. First, install the Zinio Reader on both computers. Note: when you go to the zinio.com website to install, make sure
you log in to the website using the same account (same username and password) from both machines. Once installed, your magazine subscription will be automatically delivered to one computer,
and you will need to manually download it on the second computer (which is easy to do).
The computer that is turned on and happens to ping the zinio.com server first after the magazine becomes available will get it automatically. (Remember that the Zinio Delivery Manager will
automatically retrieve the issue only if you leave the auto-delivery option turned on.) For the second computer, to get the issue manually, go to
http://www.zinio.com/gncmylibrary and choose the option to download the magazine again.
Note: The Zinio Reader Software can be downloaded onto many types of devices as specified on Zinio.com.
No. There is no expiration and no limit to how many times you can view your magazines!
