This is the 2012 multiplayer game of the year and best first person shooter of the year and is a total must... A fun and wonderful shooter with RPG elemants...
P.S... @Nurolan...the 2009 prequel...Borderlands is an excellent and superb game... However the game of the year for 2009 was not Borderlands but Uncharted 2: Among Thieves however Borderlands was nominated for Best Rpg but lost to Dragons Age: Origins

The first game was a hit and received the Game of the Year title for 2009. Rightfully so since, no other FPS was quite as unique as Borderlands. It set the bar for what a huge 'shoot and loot' game should be that offered Role Playing Game elements such as character class building, elemental damage weapons and a wealth of items to be found and either kept or sold throughout the game. To my great satisfaction, Borderlands 2 raised that bar in EVERY aspect. No stone was left unturned. It stays faithful to the original in graphical look and game-play feel which is what fans want however, the Unreal game engine has been upgraded this time to make the game look even better and run faster. 4 character classes return this time with a twist. The first class is the military veteran Commando which I played with in the first game. Useful class with a unique action skill that allows you to deploy a gun turret to fight your enemies for you. The second class is the Assassin which is new as his skill allows you to send out a decoy and turn invisible for a few seconds! The third class is the Siren which allows you to 'Phaselock' your enemy into a sphere suspended in mid-air rendering them helpless as you fire away at them! The fourth class is the most exciting one - the Gunzerker class (which I started off with). This class is the most unique as it allows you to DUAL WIELD any 2 weapons at the same time! Mega damage is possible with such a skill and it boosts your health + defense while active. A fifth class exists through a PSN update called the Mechromancer class which I have yet to try. Each class makes you want to play the game over again and that adds to it's replay value. This game now offers millions of guns - far more than the original which had a ton of them! Multi-player returns in the form of 4 player co-op. You and your friends can have a blast. Leveling up is even more fun and rewarding now. BL2 is a highly entertaining game with a good, in-depth story accompanied by many side missions that I could write more pages about but, all I will tell you now is: BUY IT! You will not be disappointed.
