After fourteen UK No.1 singles, the biggest selling pop act of the last nine years is back.
WESTLIFE'S ninth studio album once again puts great melodies, beautiful harmonies and pure pop hooks in the spotlight.
BACK HOME is heralded by the first radio single, simple titled "Home".
"Home" is a cover of the classic Mihcael Buble song, an emotive and heartfelt ballad, beautifully showcasing the smooth vocal talent of the band. With lush strings, soaring harmonies and an indelible melody "Home" creates a sound that is both soft and mellow, yet still unmistakably 'Westlife'.
BACK HOME was recorde after Westlife returned home from their most recent global tour, which included shows in South Africa where they have a solid and strong fanbase. Westlife are rightly proud of the new album. "It's very Westlife", says Shane, " but Westlife neede to step into 2007'.
To this end, under the boys own instruction, new songwriters and producers have been brought in. BACK HOME contains twelve brand new pop songs, recorded over the summer, with production credits including Quiz Larossi, Per Magnusson and Rami. Since their launch in 1998, Westlife have become a total cultural phenomenon.
After nine years they are still at the top of their game and continue to surprise and astound in equal measure. Their album released last year, THE LOVE ALBUM was the biggest selling album in 2006 for record label SonyBMG.
No band can compare to Westlife's unique success. In their nine years on top they have had eight multi-platinum albums in the UK alone and scored a record breaking fourteen UK No.1 hits, behind only Elvis and the Beatles. Now, just in time for the festive season, comes another Westlife classic BACK HOME.
