Towards the end of 1967 The Golliwogs changed their name to Creedence Clearwater Revival and that was the start of a five year period in music that would see one of the most prolific release schedules in music history: seven studio albums as well as a number of live albums in that period. In between releases they still toured continuously.
Led by John Fogerty who was the main songwriter in the band, CCR notched up hit after hit in this short space of time. Not just hits but CLASSICS such as Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, Bad Moon Rising, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Green River, Lookin’ Out My Back Door, Sweet Hitch-Hiker and Who’ll Stop The Rain to name but a few.
In 1972 the band split up due to friction within the band but their legacy of recordings will still be played for years to come.
