ECHOES, SILENCE, PATIENCE AND GRACE is the sixth atudio album from
FOO FIGHTERS. It is the first time the band has worked with producer Gil Norton since 1997's double platinum THE COLOUR THE SHAPE. Theband has kept busy since its previous studio effort, the platinum-plus double disc IN YOUR HONOUR, which was released in 2005.
The band spent the remainder of 2005 headlining arenas the world over on their biggest-selling tour to date. They also found time to play to the largest British concert audience of 2006, when they headlined London's Hyde Park for a crowd of 85,000 people. Of his band's new album Dave Grohl told the UK Guardian newsapaper, "Musically I'm in a place I've never been 'cos there's no fear, I'm not afraid to write anything any more. A lot of that has to do with the big picture - having a child and realising that life's too short to be afraid of a...piano ballad."
In its preview review Rolling Stone described the Foos new album as having a distinct 70's-rock undercurrent. "There are sonic references to early 70's Zeppelin, late-era Beatles and Bruce Springsteen tossed throughout the otherwise typically loud, brawny and stadium-ready power tunes", the publication said.
