Get Lifted

Long description

Having been around for a while - most noticeably as Kanye West's sidekick and protégé - John Stephens aka John Legend is set for a starring role. Unashamedly inspired by soul greats like Marvin Gaye and Donny Hathaway, and drawing comparisons with Norah Jones and Alicia Keys, Legend has the elegant charm and honeyed-vocal range needed to lift R&B above the commercial flashiness and give it back it's soul.

  A legend in the making

This is what I call music with substance. The music is timeless, priceless and will continue to be enjoyed for many more years to come. This brotha has a lotta soul, he kinda reminds me of Teddy Pendagrass and yet kinda sounds like Carl Thomas. This is one of those cd's that you can listen to from start to finish without skipping any track , which is very rare nowadays. This disc is so good I can't decide which song I like the most.Buy it ! It's an investment!

  Not my style

On the contrary, I struggled to find a track that I DID like. This album is for those with a different taste for the slow urban style.
