The multi-awarded singer and songwriter,
Nianell, who gave birth to triplets Jade Andrea, Tayden Amber and Kaeley Paige last year, is back with another breathtaking album.
I KNOW I AM LUCKY is produced by Maurits Lotz who worked on several key Nianell songs, including "Life's Gift" and "I'll Find A Way". This is Nianell's fourth album and is again a bilingual release that sees the singer and songwriter duet with Juanita du Plessis.
The new Afrikaans songs include "Land Van Sonskyn", "Sy Word Onthou", and "Diep In Jou Hart", a song she wrote specially for her husband, Andrew. The album also features one song she translated from English to Afrikaans "Die Vryheid Om Te Wees" as well as the title song which Nianell wrote long before she knew she was expecting triplets. "Since then this song gave more meaning to my life," she says adding "I would like to convey this message to people that if you have a positive attitude in life, it can also bring you luck."
Nianell has already finalised 45 shows for 2008 including a performance at the Klein Karoo Nasionale Arts Festival in Oudtshoorn. Nianell's three previous albums are WHO PAINTED THE MOON?, ANGEL TONGUE and LIFE'S GIFT. She has been awarded two South African Music Awards - best English adult contemporary and best female song writer ("We'll Find A Way"). Nianell recorded a DVD - titled AS ONE - of her biggest hits at Emperor's Palace last year and it has already gained gold status.
In November 2007 she finalised a deal to release a compilation album with her biggest 16 hits in Indonesia and Singapore. Highlights in 2007 include the Huisgenoot/You director of the charity organisation Proud Partners, which donated more than 15 keyboards to underprivileged schools in Cape Town and helped more than 15 teachers and 45 pupils to obtain music lessons on a regular basis.
